Sermon & Scripture Discussion – Read 1 Corinthians 11:12-26
- What tradition of communion did you grow up with? Is it different from what we do now? Why or why not?
- What has been one of your biggest questions about communion?
- Jesus gives us two symbols to focus on, His body and His blood:
- What About the Body and Blood of Jesus is important to remember?
- How do these two things impact how we See Jesus in light of communion?
- How do these two things impact how we see ourselves in light of communion?
Going Deeper 1 Corinthians 11:26-29, 33
- Read verse 26. How does this verse impact how communion should impact our lives after we leave a worship service?
- Why is verse 28 so important and how can we practice this in worship?
- In the Podcast Pastor Steve and Pastor David shared how they encounter Jesus during communion
- Why is verse 33 an important part of Communion? How does this speak to taking communion as a body, versus as individuals?
