Sermon & Scripture Discussion – Acts 2:1-4
- Read Acts 2:1-4
- How would you describe the Holy Spirit to someone who knows nothing about Him?
- Where do you see evidence of the Holy Spirit in your life?/Share an example
- Pastor Steve shared that we will credit almost anything else other than the Holy Spirit for many aspects of our lives. Why do you think that is true in your own life?
Going Deeper
- Read Acts 2:42-47 Steve shared the early church was devoted to 5 pursuits
- (The apostle’s teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer, and community)
º Which of these pursuits would you most like to be part of?
º Which of these pursuits would take a hard pass if allowed?
- The early church saw themselves as a single family. Just as a biological family would share shelter, food and money, so did the early church.
- What is it in our culture that is not conducive to living this out the way they did?
Prayer Time: (Focused Prayer time as a group!)
Spend time in prayer as a group asking for the Holy Spirit to make Himself known in our church, and for His power to be experienced. There may even be moments of confession as we examine what stands in our way from experiencing the gift of the Spirit.
