Conversation Starter
- What’s your favorite thirst quenching drink? Or the best other desire that is “quenched”? For example a hot shower in the winter or a cold swim on a hot day?
Sermon Based Questions
Read John 7:25-39
- Was there anything from Parker’s sermon that really stuck out to you, made you question, or that you would just like to discuss further?
- Our souls feel thirsty, why then are we so prone to shifting our thirst to so many other things like sex, money, achievement, entertainment, gluttony, etc.?
- Where do you tend to shift your thirst to?
- Since coming to Christ (if you’re a believer) how would you describe how your thirst for the things of this world has changed? How might it need to change in light of this passage?
- Jesus says in verse 37 that He is the living water. How would you describe in your personal walk with Jesus how you’ve experienced this to be true or not true?
- Parker’s last point was that fountains thirst to GIVE water away, what would giving living water away look like rather than thirsting for the waters of the world?
