Icebreaker:
- Besides a family member, who is someone who has made you feel extremely loved in your life, and how did they do it?
Sermon Discussion - Read Ephesians 3:14-21
- The first thing Paul prays for in these verses is for the Ephesians “To be Strengthened by the Spirit” and “For Christ to dwell in their hearts.”
- How are these connected?
- What impact do they have in our lives when we are seeking them together?
- How have you experienced the love of the heavenly Father in your life practically?
- How can Christians cultivate deeper trust in God’s love?
Going Deeper
- Verse 20 makes a bold claim about God being able to do “above and beyond all that we ask or think”.
- Does your prayer life reflect that you believe this to be true of God?
- If you believe that God can do those things, what does it mean about God when he doesn’t do those things?
- How does understanding God’s love AND God’s ultimate power help us respond to God in deeper trust?
Prayer:
- If you were to personalize this prayer (Verses 16-21) for yourself, your group, and your family, how would it change your view of the Father and his love for you?
Reminder for Next week: We will be in Ephesians 4:1-16 - Read ahead!
