July 18, 2024 5:04 PM
Announcement:
Have people been able to get things for the Foster Drive? Discuss as a group how you can join the church family in supporting the Foster Care Ministry's backpack drive. https://bfreechurch.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/2384312
Icebreaker:
What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?
Sermon Discussion - Read Luke 19:11-27
  • What stood out to you the most from the sermon and the parable?
  • How do the choices of the servants reflect different attitudes toward their master?
    • How do the different responses of the servants reflect our own attitudes towards what God has entrusted us with?
  • How do you see the principle of being faithful with little leading to being entrusted with more in your own life?
Going Deeper
  • Reflecting on the statement, "It's a crisis of decision," how does this parable challenge your current way of living and your commitment to God?
  • The unfaithful servant acted out of fear and focused on self.
    • What fears might prevent us from fully living out our faith and using what God has given us?
    • What are the things you do that are for your desires more than God’s?
Next Steps
  • What steps can you take to overcome the fear of failure or loss when it comes to serving God?
Prayer Time:
  • Consider this as an example of how to pray: Considering going around and different people praying the parts that God has laid on their hearts:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of new life and the power of the Holy Spirit. Help us to recognize the opportunities and responsibilities You have entrusted to us. Give us courage to step out in faith and invest our lives for Your kingdom. Remove our fears of failure and loss, and remind us daily that living for You is our true purpose. Guide us in our choices, that we may faithfully serve You and see Your work multiplied in our lives and the lives of others. In Jesus' name, Amen
Reminder for next week - Read Luke 18:1-8
