Announcement: Invite the men to the No Regrets Men’s Conference! Come together! Icebreaker:
Is there a decision you made in your life that you were scared to make, but when you moved forward the outcome was amazing? Had you known the outcome, would you have been scared?
When was the last time you were amazed by the power of prayer?
The only two requests in the disciples' prayer, was for boldness to speak God’s word and for God to perform miracles.. Safety is not even mentioned in their prayer.
What makes this prayer different then how you typically pray?
How do you think the way they prayed impacted what God did:
For them?
For those that saw them act in God’s power?
Compare how the Sanhedrin in 4:15-17 and the disciples in 4:23-31 respond to what God is doing:
In times of trouble do you respond like the Sanhedrin (trying to figure out for yourself what to do), or like the disciples (coming to God in prayer asking for the Power of the Spirit)?
Going Deeper -Acts 4:23-31
Have you ever felt prompted by the Holy Spirit? Can you share the prompting and your response?
How are you feeling about this whole topic of the Holy Spirit and His power?
Encouraged? Scared? Wigged Out? Excited?
During the sermon we prayed as a congregation for the Holy Spirit to reveal where we should be saying “yes” and where we should be saying “no”.
Share with the group something the Holy Spirit showed you during this time.
We also asked Him to show us if there was any area in our lives that He wanted us to do something that may appear radical.
Did the Holy Spirit convict anyone to do something that feels a little bit crazy? To live a little bit more radically?
Prayer Time: (Focused Prayer time as a group!) Spend time in prayer as a group praying for Boldness to act on what The Holy Spirit is asking of you and of our church, for power to say YES to Him
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Our offices are closed from December 23 to January 1.
